Name the song the line is from Part II

When I Googled Sue's lyric I got Nilsson first, but another reference linked the words to Hank Snow. Turns out the lyric was written even earlier, and Hank just sang it, probably before your time, Sue.
I just looked up "Nevertheless" and found Frank Sinatra's lyrics ("Maybe I'm right, and maybe I'm wrong ..."). Below the name, it says "Songwriters: Kalmar, Bert; Ruby, Harold." No Hank Snow.

not maybe- exactly!
Merle was right up there w/ Paul McCartney and Oprah!!

someone start a lyric...

Good Morning All,

I’m heading for work soon. But this should be easy:

Your looks are laughable,
unphotographable
Yet you're my favorite work of art

Wrong holiday! Much as Ohioans would wish winter away, we're only in December, not February.

If you haven't got a penny, then a ha'penny will do

Has anyone actually identified Cyndee's song?

I'm sure Bard meant to say "My Funny Valentine."

"If you haven't got a penny, then a ha'penny will do" -- I'm sure I know that, but just can't think of it, lol.

Well, it was a BP fastball. I didn't think the name was necessary.

Sue, I switched holidays. You might have a slight disadvantage on this one.

Had I made a post in which I forgot to actually name the previous song, I would have apologized to my fellow thread participants.

Never in a million years would it have occurred to me to shift the blame for my error onto them by accusing them of being too slow or stupid to hit a BP (batting practice) pitch.

Jim, your question was already answered by Sue and then by me. I did not forget to name the song. I credited everyone with the intelligence to know the song after my very broad hint that it involved a holiday in February. Now you imply that I am either insulting people or covering up a mistake. To what purpose?

Frankly, this thread is getting too slow to load already, and I am not interested in waiting that long to discover persistent and unfriendly criticism.

The answer is "Christmas Is Coming" (a traditional carol) or "A Round About Christmas" by The Kingston Trio. The floor is open. See everyone in Part 3.
