Name the song the line is from Part II

That’s close since they were both dance club hits. This is a couple of years after “Some kind of friend”.
It’s from 1984.
If these lines don’t do it, I’ll give it up:

Hey you, ______ _______ ___ _______
do you wanna dance
you know ______ _______ ___ _______
give me half a chance
you know you got everybody waiting to see
who will be the lucky guy

Cyn,
thanks for the effort but I am brain dead today.
I even turned off my music and read/sang the words over & over again.
I can hear it but the title isn't coming to me.

and you KNOW NO ONE ELSE has a clue

You're Looking Hot tonight?!?????

OMG I think I got it!!!:>)

New lyrics: running wild and lookin pretty

BINGO!

Edit: Why do I skip stuff when I've had too much caffeine?

I believe yours is “Hot child in the city”

This is from 1983:

You tell me that you want me
You tell me that you need me
You tell me that you love me
And I know that I'm right
Cuz I hear it in the night

I think the title is: Talking In Your Sleep. Not too sure. I'll check back.

I really think that is the title.
New lyrics,
You know you've got to, go through hell before you get to heaven.

Steve Miller Band - Jet Airliner

New - (This one is definitely American - and was a hit single)

At the corner drugstore each Saturday we would meet,
I'd walk you home in the moonlight,

Tonyrob

That be that big ol' Jet Airliner, by the Steve Miller Band.

Edit: I'm takin' down my lyrics. I've been a few steps late for at least the last day or two.

That one sounded familiar, but it took me a while. It goes waaaaay back to the mid-50s, right?

It's I'll Be Home, by Pat Boone.

OK, we've got 1986 or 1987 here:

There is freedom within
There is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup

In the US, this was a #2 hit in 1986. The title of the song is often thought to be Hey Now, but it's not.

This late 80s-early 90s band endured several personnel changes over the years, and included members from New Zealand, Australia, and the US.

They broke up in 1996, but then some members reunited in 2006, and they're still performing today.

I liked this band's name because it described what happened at my house when I threw beer parties in the 80s.
That’s “Don’t dream, it’s over” by Crowded House

These lines sound a little older than the 1974 song they came from. But the are nice:

You're my sun,
my moon,
my guiding star
My kind of wonderful
That's what you are
