Name The Song The Line Is From Part III

Oops. Hint not needed.

That's my favorite Madonna song - La Isla Bonita.

Try this one:

Stilted conversations
I'm afraid that's all we've got

This one may be difficult (I’m trying to un-jinx it). Here are more lines, and a few hints:

Crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thoughts
Stilted conversations
I’m afraid that’s all we’ve got

You say you just don’t see it
He says it’s perfect sense
You just can’t get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language
Talkin’ in defense

The group is an all-male English pop/rock band formed in 1985 as a side project of one of the founding members of the band Genesis.

The song was released in late 1988, peaking on the charts in early 1989 (US#1/UK#2). It’s about unresolved generational discord.

That is a Mike Rutherford Song - The Living Years - one of the few decent songs of the period - imho

Yes! Nice job, Tony.

Yours would be Miss You, by the Stones.

People in motion, people in motion

Hi All,

You had me going there for a while, Jim. But I finally figured it out. It’s “San Francisco” by Scott Mckenzie. Very nice.

Try 1966:

There's so many changes and tears you must hide

That's another one that sounded soooo familiar, and should have been easy, but...

Did You Ever Have To Make Up Your Mind?, by the Lovin' Spoonful. Good one!

Some 1967 here:

I've been cookin' all morning and you haven't touched a single bite

Let's try a few more lines :

And mama said to me, "Child, what's happened to your appetite?
I've been cookin' all morning and you haven't touched a single bite"
That nice young preacher, Brother Taylor, stopped by today
Said he'd be pleased to have dinner on Sunday, oh, by the way
He said he saw a girl that looked a lot like you up on Chocktaw Ridge"

I think that was an Ode to Somebody. Billy Joe , Bobby Joe - something like that. Not a clue who performed it.

Was that close enough -

If it was -
