Name The Song The Line Is From Part III

I believe that’s “Eve Of Destruction” by Barry McGuire. I really like that one, Ben.

New:

I know the only one for me can only be you.

I remember the song, Cyn. I like it, and I can hear it in my head, but I can't place the artist who made it a hit. Pretty sure the version I'm thinking of is from the 60s, but I'd guess that it's probably been covered many times.

It's The More I See You. Who did that?

This one goes further back:

You can knock me down, step on my face
Slander my name all over the place

You thought that I would need a crystal ball to see right through the haze.
Well, here's a poke at you, you're gonna choke on it too,

I knew your song, Tony, but I didn't have any lyrics of my own lined up.

Yours is I Can See For Miles, by the Who.

Here's one I found:

You said you'd love me, never make me blue

You said you'd love me, never make me blue

I'm in pieces, bits and pieces
Now you've gone and I'm all alone

That's "What A Difference A Day Makes."

I think these lyrics are right --

"Here's my heart in my hand"

I don't think that this is Sue's song because it wasn't a big hit (well - at least not one that I was aware of), but Eddie Cochran was one of my early idols and he recorded "A Million Tears" which contained those lyrics.

Hi All,

Well Sue, I believe that is one of my favorites. Were you thinking about “Turn Around, Look At Me”? It was a big hit for The Vogues. Perhaps we will need a ruling from you, but I’m pretty confident about my guess.

BTW Jim, the biggest hit for “The More I see You” in the States was from Chris Montez in 1966.

Edit: I just missed some puctuation

Wow. The same guy who did Let's Dance? I'd never have guessed that.

BTW, for Sue's song, Turn Around, Look At Me by the Vogues sure sounds like a good guess to me.

Sorry to interrupt. Carry on.
