Name The Song The Line Is From Part III

Hi All,

That’s those BTO guys saying “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet”. It’s a classic.

More 70s:

And I ain't no fool for love songs that whisper in my ears

That's Still Crazy After All These Years, by Paul Simon. Great song and album.

Stuck on the 70s, I guess:

I know I can't hide from a memory
'Though day after day I've tried

Here are a few more lines, and a few hints :

I know I can’t hide from a memory
‘Though day after day I’ve tried
I keep saying “She’ll be back”
But today, again, I lied

This 1971 hit was sung by a soul quartet from a large Midwestern city that had developed its own soul sound, much like Motown, Memphis, and Philly had done.

The song enjoyed both domestic and transatlantic success (US#3, US R&B #1, UK#3).

The song title is a four-word question.

That one is “Have You Seen Her?” by the Chi-Lites. I hear it a lot on my local Oldies Station. It’s a nice song, but really sad.

This 1963 hit is sad too, but it’s also up-tempo:

I pretend that I'm carefree
but I'm living a lie

Yep, it's sad, but I really like that one. It's Two Faces Have I, by Lou Christie.

Going further back (early 60s) for this one:

He thought love was a game
It's a, oh, such a shame

Blue Angel,by Roy Orbison, another great song by a great artist.

How about:

Never have to worry, because I am here
You dont need to suffer, cause I am near

Bob

Pretty sure that's Sam and Dave, with Hold On, I'm Comin'. Another classic.

Try this one:

Wishin' I were a fast freight train
Just a-chooglin' on down to New Orleans

I believe that’s “Born On A Bayou” by CCR. They did some really good stuff.

New:

I get so timid and shy each time that I look him in the eye
I think that's "Easier Said Than Done," but don't know who sang it.

"Lonely nights without sleeping,
While I long for your touch"
Here's another line from the song --

"far away from the bustle and the bright city lights"
