Name The Song The Line Is From Part III

Great tune! I love that one. Good Vibrations, by the Beach Boys.

How 'bout this oldie:

Oh, but I'm gonna keep on schemin',
'Til I can make you, make you my own

Yep, Hitchin' A Ride was done by Vanity Fair (or Vanity Fare, maybe?).

Edit: Nite, all.

I like that one. It’s “Just One Look”. It was done by a few, I know. Very nice, indeed.

From 1963:

Like a Queen with her King

Man, I had a difficult time with that one! Gave me fits, and I nearly gave up a few times.

It's My Party, by Leslie Gore. Very nice, Cyndee! And STOP doing that.

This is from 1980:

Though the binding cracks and the pages start to yellow

That’s why I’m here, Jim. But that’s another song that I’ll save for later. Your song is “Longer” by Dan Fogelberg. A very nice choice of lines and a pretty song.

Another romantic one, this one from the 60s:

Tell me now, is it so?
Don't let me be the last to know

That's a really great song (and not too difficult, lol).

This Guy's In Love With You. That's Herb Alpert, right? Very nice.

Mid 80s here:

These days a man makes you something
And you never see his face

Is that "Moon Maker" ?
This was a 1984 album track that was released as a single in 1985.

Hard to believe anyone would want to write and sing a song about a hamburger shack on Sunset Boulevard in L.A. -- especially one that the owner himself described as a "hole in the wall."

That's what happened here, and it charted #22 on the Hot 100 (#7 Mainstream Rock). Two-word title.

Edit: Ooooh, good guess, Phil, but no. You're close, though.

Looks like that one isn't going to work. It was Sunset Grill, by Don Henley.

I'll try one more. This one was a big hit in 1963:

We both seem to glow with the glow of love

Hello, everyone.

Looks like that one isn't going to work, either. It was Candy Girl, by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

That's two duds in a row for me. I think I'll just leave it open.

If memory serves, the original lyrics thread was started by noahcat in February, 2008. It's had a great four-year run, but it's getting increasingly difficult to attract players these days. Seems like most former participants are either busy, or have lost interest, either of which is understandable.

Just a thought, but maybe it's time to give it a rest? Whatever y'all think.

You're still our hero, Jim !
