Space Oddity - David Bowie - Probably his best song!

That one would be Brand New Key, by Melanie. I can't imagine why some people seem to think those lyrics are suggestive (heh, heh).

A few posts back, the musical question, "Shall I leave you my key?" was asked. Here's the musical answer:

It would be thrilling, If you were willing
But if it can never be, well, then pity me

Good morning.

As soon as I read the lyric I knew who - but the title escapes me.

It's a one-word title. What would you call it when someone of the opposite sex asks, "Shall I leave you my key?" (musically speaking, of course)

Edit: Decided I needed to clarify somewhat, lol.

"Masher" comes to mind, Jim. Is that it?

No, that's not quite it. I can see it's time for more lyrics:

It would be thrilling, if you were willing
But if it can never be, well, then pity me

You were born to be kissed
I can't resist
You are __________

The song's been around since the 30s. An American brother duo did an up-tempo version in 1961. I fell for it when I heard it on one of their greatest hits albums.

Edit: They recorded a couple different versions. No peeking until the song is guessed or surrendered, but my favorite version is here.

You were born to be kissed
I can't resist
You are __________ That can only be irresistable. Total guess.

Right or wrong I'm leaving it open

Good guess, Tony, but

Just found out I'm going to have to leave for a while, so I'll give this one up.

The song is Temptation. The 1961 version I like was done by The Everly Brothers.

Probably be back in 4 hours or so.

OK - I'll jump in -
