NBA - Will there be a season?

Based on the reports it doesn't look like it will happen, but can everybody be that dumb?

However does anybody really care?

Each and everyday the "players" decisions answer your question. Yes, they are that dumb.

To put this player stupidity into perspective; if the NBA was playing , the players would be receiving their first paychecks this week. The AVERAGE paycheck would be $425,000 PER player. That's right- $425,000 per player. These paychecks represent 1/12th of the average players yearly pay. How do you spell S-T-U-P-I-D? It is spelled "NBA player".

It will be interesting to see who breaks first, since the owners have no cash coming in to run their day to day operations and pay debt.

However the owners don't rely on this revenue on their day to day living while the players do

As to the initial question, the NBA is in A-1 prime position for "who gives a shit?" when it comes to the possibility of one of the big three not playing out a season. However, the consuming public has proven the value of its stands when everybody pilloried both sides on the NFL lockout then couldn't reattach themselves to the teat quickly enough when it was resolved.

I hope the players break the league. They are the capital in this business relationship.

Unless the courts do something unfathomable, the players will continue to lose. They, in their ignorance, are dissolving their union. They will have zero leverage. The owners can and will restructure the pay scales. New college players and NBA vets who have come to their senses will be signed and rosters will be filled. The game will go on, and hopefully it will be played within the rules. Thugs, tats, foul mouthed "players", rapists, drug heads, etc. will be a thing of the past. With these changes even I would buy a ticket and attend a game.

It appears now there will be a 66 game season. That is really too bad. I was hoping for none. Used to love the game can't stand it any more. The players dont deserve the money they make.
