Its possible, very unlikely, but possible.

With the help of nicotine gum, I quit smoking on January 1st, 2002. Nicotine gum isn't supposed to be chewed like regular gum. You give it a chew or 2 every once in a while. The rest of the time you just park it between your cheek and gums.

I made many unsuccessfull attempts to quit smoking. But with the help of the gum, I finally kicked the habit. And I didn't get addicted to the gum.

'just a pinch between the cheek and gum' is an old snuff ad tagline. chew it like double mint and the high potency will gag you. low potency is only disgusting. i chewed the stuff for years. i finally quit because patients put me on their prayer lists. seriously. m
