I'm also a paid side member of what was known as VegasRex, now known as therexforums since Rex moved to Seattle. A number of former LVA members migrated to that forum about 4 years ago. That much smaller group of people has bonded in real life in ways that I have never seen on LVA. They have multiple member meets every year. I've actually been to a couple of those. The sole purpose of those meets is to have fun with friends, both old and new, and we do just that. There are a number of LVA members that I would like to meet in person in Vegas and spend some time with participating in what Vegas is mostly all about - drinking and gambling and just having fun. I don't see that kind of camaraderie happening on LVA. That is a shame.

There was that type of "camaraderie" on here, particularly in the years before your join-up date. Though I agree that the core group that migrated from here to Rex took it to another level. I think two things are at work: Bigger gene pool. Time.
There's a lot of dilution here because of the sheer number of members. And time has seen people fall away, interest in Vegas lapse or diminish. I can only speak for my experiences, but I've developed a core of very good friends because of this place. We are bound by respect and shared interests, and Vegas now really has little to do with that.
