Ok so this last saturday morning we were at Al Lopez park behind the Bucs stadium for Bark in the Park a fund raising event for the local SPCA. In 4 hours they raised $79k! We were there with Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid Florida which some of you know we volunteer with.
We got to hear/see the end of a great story. Few months ago the group was called. Seems a Golden had taken up residence under an old house. When they went to rescue it they found out why. It was looking for a den. It gave birth to a litter! Now most rescue groups dont have the facilities to care for litters (we use foster homes, never kennels). But once again our members came through and one took the mom and litter. When they were old enough (8 weeks) the pups found new homes as did mom. It was evident from the litter she had bred with another Golden. The mom had no collar and no micro chip. Thinking was she became pregnant and rather then care for it they just let it go!
Anyway, in the picture, which I hope comes out, you will see one of the pups, Sampson. Sampson had been playing all morning and took a break under his older "brother" Charles to get away from the other Goldens who wanted to play. He is a happy healthy 4 1/2 months now. The red vest has the organization name on it and pockets for folks to put donations in. The other Golden with the red collar and also a red vest is our Riley

Hopefully a welcome post!
