Not Vegas

I was curious...here's what I found out:

There are three "casinos" here in Vallarta. They are about the same- Yak at the Peninsula Mall, Emotion (Emocion) at the Galerias Mall across from the cruise ship dock (Martime Terminal), and another in Plaza Caracol.
Essentially they have a sports book and video slot machines, similar to ones in Vegas; Hexbreaker, Frog Prince, Coyote Moon, Wolf Run, etc. and Bingo video slots. They are usually penny slots... but can have higher denominations.
No table games such as poker, blackjack, roulette or such.

I'll stick to Las Vegas...
Mexico has casinos? Damn the only place that would have worse odds than the Indian casinos! Suppose the "cartel" have ownership of these casinos? Don't you dear try and leave with a "profit"
Some here -- not on this particular thread -- would consider the Grand Canyon and Bryce improved with the addition of casinos.
I like to know that casinos aren't rigged before I play any machines at them. I've heard too many horror stories of people hitting a jackpot on a cruise ship or foreign country only to have the slot manager make up some BS "malfunction" excuse to not pay it out. There is piece of mind in Vegas knowing the gaming board is a phone call away and is not in the back pocket of the casino.

I could play tables in Mexico. Not sure I'd play many machines, though.

Back from PV. I only visited one casino - which I was told was the largest - Emotion - it was really quite small. No table games, a couple of very poor video poker offerings, a couple of progressives (Hotshots), the usual Vegas mix of video-slots. Not really tourist-friendly. Didn't stay long and wouldn't go back. Other than that we had a great time!

In the early 1990's I had the opportunity to go to a casino in Cannes, France. We were there on a cruise. My husband was not allowed inside because he had on shorts so I sent him back to the boat and ventured in. It was small, dark, dirty and I am sure I was the only person in the whole casino not smoking. They did have video poker machines which is my game of choice and everything at the time was still in francs. I got some change, played for about five minutes, won something because the coins dropped down and I left. I had no idea what I was doing and I would never try to gamble in France again (even though we go there almost every year).
I'm with Ken - some places do not need casinos.
