Occupy Wall Street - Height of Irony

I work across the street from Bryant Park here in NYC and the OWS crowd will be demonstrating in the park today.

The location is the height of irony for several reasons:

1) It used to be a drug dealers haven until it was cleaned up - helped by donations from the evil 1%
2) Most of the park is taken up with an ice skating rink which has free admission due to a sponsorship from the evil Citibank
3) The rest of the park consists of small retail shops owned and operated by individuals. This demonstration will result in zero sales today for these people. Since these shops are only open for 10 weeks this is a real hardship
4) We were advised to bring our lunches today, so the local restaurants, pizza shops, delis will also have reduced revenue
Well said.

However, you need to remember they need their pay check from the unions and soros.
Its so cute watching the t-party get their panties in a big wad.

The T-Party has gone from protesting Wall Street.....to protesting the president's birth certificate...to now defending Wall Street.

Wasn't there something about "irony" mentioned in this thread?

PJ, the tea party didn't need to get paid to protest. If this left over hippie movement is so real, why are they receiving pay checks, urinating on cars and peoples houses and begging for the govt to give then another hand out.

You notice at night, the place just smells from pot. So, yes, we should take the pot heads seriously.

The tea party did not:

1- illegally take over a public park
2- repeatedly get arrested
3 -disrespect the police by urinating on their cars
4 - use illegal drugs
5 - use other people business as a bathroom when not urinating in the park
6 - pay homeless people to march with them
7 - have sex in public parks
8 - disturbing the peace by playing music etc., keeping the residents from sleeping
It was a groovy, hip time in the 60's.
Peace,
Brian
What funny about the entire matter is half of them have not the faintest idea what they are protesting for in the first place. We are in a sad state of affairs and there are a lot of people are making way too much fun over the OWS. Reading some of the articiles that appear in the paper when ask you get all sorts of answers as to why they are protesting.
Yep, agree I would hate to own a shop in this area! A few days stay would have been plenty! They need to move south to Owebama backyard at the white house. He may even join them on the "lawn" for a beer or game of one on one bball! Oh wait, he can't he's still out campaigning on our dollar!

Exactly. Thats why they are so lame.
The Pee Party thinks curfews in public parks are a violation of their 1st amendment rights because the parks are public property. There are many places that are public property - paid for and maintained using tax dollars - that have limits and/or restrictions on their access and availability. Should the Pee Party be allowed to block any highway 24/7 just because it is public property? Should they be allowed to occupy any library 24/7 just because it is public property? Should they be allowed to pitch tents on airport runways just because they are public property?
