Occupy Wall Street - Height of Irony

While Bill R seems to think ows is an economic boom to downtown NYC, the proof is the opposite as the Milk Street Cafe which is near the squatters, just laid off 21 people and is in danger of defaulting on their $3m loan due to a 30% drop in business since the squatters moved in.

Its amazing how far you will bend the truth to try and make your point. The owners of the Milk Cafe stated that it was the metal barricades the police put up that were preventing the OWS crowd from having access to their establishment that caused the drop in business. As of yesterday, the police agreed to cut back on the barracades,at the request of the local business's, allowing commerce to flow.
With the barricades in place, people in the park couldn't get to the cafe and were walking a block and a half to the closest place on the same side of the street. With the NYPD removing its railings, people can now freely cross the street instead on having to make the two block detour.

Would the metal barricades have been needed if the OWS had not "moved in"? The problem for the Milk Cafe arose after the OWS arrived. See the connection, or are those rose colored glasses still getting in the way?

What happened to your much vaunted ignore list. You feel the need to make a fool out of yourself starting a thread about people you ignore, and then prove yourself a liar to boot.

Billryan- just what does my ignore list have to do with this topic? As usual, when you can not comment intelligently about a topic you are obviously wrong about you change the conversation to a personal attack on anyone who disagrees with your myopic point of view. I guess I should have asked for and received your permission when I decided to remove all of those I had put on ignore. Your comments just prove that, as far as you are concerned, putting you on ignore was a wise and just decision. Do everyone a favor and try to stay on topic.

Someone should notify the occupiers their mission statement is to spur economic activity in lower Manhatten. They missed that memo.

They aren't there to spur the economy. They are there to disrupt the status quo and make their voices heard...and its working...and they are growing...and the faux outrage of the tea party is losing steam by the day.

...and its great to watch them grow stronger in the context of voicing real problems while the tea party grows weaker in the context of whatever their latest BS conspiracy theory is.

What topic would that be? The metal barriers Rudy G's administration put up on Wall Street following the Sept. 11th terror attacks? The ones that have been up and down for ten years before OWS showed up?
Why am I bothering to reply to a person who made such a big deal about ignoring me. Obviously, he'll never see this.
