Olympic Talk...............

So far, I've enjoyed some of the swimming & women in Gymnastics are awesome too.

For the men swimmers........appears Lochte's ego, ranks right up there with Tigers.

Also, enjoyed some of the highlights...........but sitting thru Soccer tourn's from countries I've never
heard of, or barely pronounce?

Youse?
This has been discussed on the FFA. There seems to be an overall preferance for women's beach volleyball, indoor women's volleyball and all swimming events
perverts.

all my gay architect boyfriends are glued (ick) to their TVs....
Me?
Not watching anything other than Big Brother and Wipeout.

not into sports any time of the year- but the photos of 16 year old Gabe Douglas are awesome!
We've been enjoying the Olympics, especially the tennis and swimming. We are BIG tennis fans in our home and have attended quite a few tournaments. LOVE the swimming, too. I think that the male swimmers have some of the most perfect bodies in all of sports

Should have been 16.5 perfect score on vault the other night, the best vault of all time. IMHO
I haven't watched much of the Olympics, but with track events starting I'll be watching more. I think there might be a new world record in the men's 100 meters (barring rain).

I didn't know that there was a 100 meter barring rain event in the Olympics. That's kind of difficult in London!

I'm not a fan of gymnastics, but the US women were exceptional. Worth watching. And Makela's (sp?) vault was perfection. I was like one of the judges -- when I saw it I was wide eyed and with my mouth showing a big "O".

Can't believe how well the British are doing.

Glad to see US swimming doing so well.

It took some work to stay current while spending last week in Vegas.

Olympics movin along..........and did anyone else see Serena's celebratory DANCE?

Ok, I'm sure this has been discussed Elsewhere too...........(I don't talk on FFA Hoops)

But when she did her Dance (and who Didn't think she would win?) I didn't think much about it til,
my Son said "OMG, shes Crip Walking"

Seriously? At the Olympics? Wimbledon?

NOT a very Classy thing to do, Mr. Serena.
yo, home slice. You know the crip walk? Know more than me.

What has hit me is how badly our men have faired. So here was the question, if we remove the women and the male swimmers, what's our medal count?

As of Saturday:
Gold 7
Silver 10
Bronze 11

Compared with our total:
Gold 44
Silver 29
Bronze 29

If we were looking at non-swimming men (but included diving), we'd rank below France in the medal count and just above South Korea.

Great Britain is unbelievable. They won only one gold in 1996. 28 so far (one day left) in this one. They killed in cycling. What's with that?

Is it me, or does our wrestling seem weak. We've only got 3 medals (with 2 events left). We won 6 in 2004. 7 in 2000. 8 in 1996. Is wrestling a dying/dead sport in the US?

Boxing, not a sport I particularly like. In 1996 we won 6 medals. In 2012, 0 medals for men (2 for women).

And we can't get a single medal in sailing, kayaking, canoing? I figured we'd be good at those sports. They involve strapping things to the top of an SUV.
