Over ran by Rabbits

Anyone got any good ideas other than a 22 to get rid of rabbits??? I look out my back window and it looks like my yard is moving I have so many bunnies hopping around. One has taken up resident in my side bushes and I can get so close I could almost pet him. While they are cute little critters--I have had my car in twice this summer because of chewed wires thanks to the little guys, not to mention they have ate there weight times 10 out of my garden, flowers and anything else they can get ahold of. My lazy cat pays no attention to them. ERRRR the perils of living in the country.
I used to have a gadget that emits high-pitched sounds (beyond human hearing) that deters animals. It had a dial that you could set - cats, dogs, rabbits, mice. rats, gophers etc. I used it at my cabin for mice and in my yard for cats - worked really well. Also - fence off with chicken wire every single water source on the property or drain the water source. You can also buy dried fox blood and fox urine at garden supply stores - rabbits won't go near it. I also read that this works but have not tested it personally -
Sprinkle vinegar, liquid chili powder or hot pepper flakes around your garden. You can also place vinegar-soaked corncobs around the garden. Re-soak the corncobs every two weeks and after rain.
Spread human hair around the garden. In addition to deterring rabbits, the hair will break down into good fertilizer. Simply ask a hair salon for a bag of cut hair.

Hope this helps

Have you thought about giving Elmer Fudd a call?

I had a whippet dog and the rabbits stayed away, but once in awhile you will have a dead rabbit on your hands. He was always so proud when he would catch them, usually he would spit them out in time.

Buy a couple of beagles.

I'm not sure what would be worse, your bunny problem or mcat problem. About three yrs ago my neighbors wife thought it would be so cute to bring home three little kittens, on for each of their kids. They put them outside(after there kids played with them for about a week), never had them fixed and now they live under my shed, my deck, under the neighbors decks, in the woods, it's crazy. The neighborhhod is being overun by ferral cats and animal control won't do sh!t about it(sorry sir, we don't do that anymore).
