Presidential Candidates and Gambling (POL)

Wondering. Has anyone done a comparison of the various 2012 candidates' positions on gambling? This could be anything from supporting the legalization of internet poker to supporting a complete prohibition. What makes me curious is the pledges so many of the GOP candidates have taken (oppose gay marriage, support a Biblical world view, ect) and whether any of those pledges actually involve opposing gambling.

I am especially interested, are there are any LVA readers who support candidates who are anti-gambling?

Maybe none of the candidates are anti-gambling. I admit I have not bothered to research this. I figured in this forum some participants would know.
I don't think Internet gambling is a priority campaign platform & their views on it won't affect my vote as there are more important issues
Its really easy to figure out.

Step 1) Find out what the president's position is on gambling.

Step 2) ALL of the GOP contenders will have the EXACT oppositte position (even if they previously supported the same stance as the president.)
Biblical world view. Interesting. Would that be the retributive "eye-for-an-eye" of the Rs or the mamby-pamby "other cheek" of the Ds?

I am conservative, pro-gambling, but against the expansion of online gambling.

Bringing gambling into most states and then seeing the government squander the money is enough proof. The state of Illinois brought in the lottery and then casinos to fund education. However, most of the money is squandered elsewhere and Illinois is in worse financial state than nearly every other state despite my $6.000 annual property tax contribution on a modest house in the suburbs. In essence, gambling is a huge regressive tax on the poor.

Bringing Legalized gambling into the home is not something I can support.

PS --- Isn't it funny how the major crackdown in online gambling came under our current "progressive" President and not a conservative? I used to play PokerStars in "free" games and tournaments --- but that was shutdown a little over 1 month ago.

Hoops, When BO isn't voting present, he's just playing golf.

"Hoops, When BO isn't voting present, he's just playing golf."

Or campaigning on his bus made in Canada.

Hillary 2012 !!!!!
