Steve Wynn gets it (POL)

"I'm saying it bluntly, that this administration is the greatest wet blanket to business, and progress and job creation in my lifetime," Wynn said in response to a question about Las Vegas real estate.

"The guy [Obama] keeps making speeches about redistribution, and maybe we ought to do something to businesses that don't invest or hold too much money," Wynn said. "We haven't heard that kind of talk except from pure socialists."

Now the rest of the nation needs to.

His poll numbers are now in the 45% approval range. I think the country is catching on

I have to wonder, Terry, what your solutions would be? I mean, "socialism" has been part of the American system for a very long time, through administrations of both sides of the fence, benefiting folks on both sides of the political aisle. Let's say we all agree this path might not be getting us anywhere, what are your suggestions for resolution?
Ken, we have never been a "socialist" country. If that is what you are looking for, I would suggest look what is happening in Greece and Europe.

Go Steve!! He gets it more than most people!!

Subsidies NOT to grow certain crops, tariffs, sliding tax rates, Medicare, Social Security ...

Like when folks like you look at politics as either A or not A, you're missing the great mass of reality between the absurd polarities. It's like folks who think we're a democracy. Well, no, we're a representative republic and we recently had a president who received fewer popular votes than the guy who did not become president. How is that representative of democracy? Since ours is not a pure capitalistic system we of course have shades of socialism.
I say first Hamburger Helper in every home. Second entitlements will have to be dealt with sure it may effect me. But not as much as a bankrupt USA. And pols need to ignore that every 2 years is an election cycle and do their job. And maybe term limits.

I guess that explains why you don't get comped drinks at VP at the Wynn.

They're not being cheap bastards, they're simply against the socialist redistribution of wealth.

Steve's been blaming everyone but himself for the two giant money pits he built on the strip at the height of the Housing and Financial bubble. (Which, BTW, collapsed before the guy he blames even took office).

I just find it amusing he rants about socialism in the US all the while tooting the horn of economic policies in Communist China. Its hypocritical, nonsensical, and irrational....all the right qualities for a tea-party presidential candidate. How about it, Steve?
So I guess you guys think that

1- 9.2% unemployment
2- 16+% un/underemployment
3- 44 million Americans on food stamps
5- $1,400 billion deficits
6- less than 2% GDP growth
7- declining wages

is good economic policy?
Tea party is a shorthand for sound bites detached from practical reality. And it will be the ruin of the GOP in the next presidential election.
