After reading the "inane" comments of so many here I now see why Obama won. I just never realized how many truly ignorant people reside in the USA. America and those who built this great nation lost when the Socialist "won". BYW- if my truthful comments bother you, then put me on ignore.

LOL at all the people here STILL whining about taxes. God forbid we ask the millionaires to pay more. and the tea party morons couldn't even agree on that.

If you look at every other Western country in the world, their rates are all significantly higher. So everybody quit yer bitchin and suck it up a little.

Let me guess? You are just an employee and nothing more, otherwise you would know that our corporation taxes are among the highest in the world.
Why should those who work hard and make a good living take care of the many that don't plan on ever getting a job? Generational welfare is a huge problem in this country and yet we continue to make it easier and easier for deadbeats.

Time for today's game of "I Don't Care What's True, I'm Going to Spew Wrong Stuff Anyhow!" Today's contestant is rdwoodpecker.

Here's what's true:

While the U.S. has a high statutory corporate tax rate (meaning the rate on paper), U.S. corporations actually pay incredibly low taxes due to the ever-proliferating loopholes, credits, and deductions in the tax code and the use of overseas tax havens, things competitor nations simply don't allow.

In other words, we start from a high rate, then give so many corporate breaks that companies can whittle their exposure down to among the lowest rates in the world.

U.S. corporate taxes that were actually paid (the effective rate) fell to a 40 year low of 12.1 percent in fiscal year 2011, despite corporate profits rebounding to their pre-Great Recession heights.



Now observe as our contestant ignores what's true and spews wrong stuff anyhow!

How much did Solyndra pay in taxes? Or GE for that matter?

My guess is Chilly isn't going to want to yack too much on these two BO favorites.
