Time to bid adieu

I see that our membership here expires at the end of the month. After being paying members here for well over a decade we have decided not to renew. I was going to launch into a long explanation of why but seems rather counterproductive. Among other things would like the post to remain up

Instead would like to dwell on some of the reasons we have enjoyed being a member here. First and foremost the friends we have made. Through LVA we corresponded with and met with an amazing number of folks here. Some still post and some long gone but we continued to correspond with, and actual meet up with on trips to Vegas with a good number of you. Whether through a member's meet or just one on one we have never regretted getting together in person. Some life long friendships and that alone has been worth it.

Over the years we have found members very giving when it comes to advise and help. Whether guiding us when we were novices to the game of how to play the host thing, honest opinions on some great restaurants or even cluing us in on some hidden plays especially in video poker the help has been amazing.

We continue to visit Las Vegas and hope to stay in touch with many of you. We were members of one free group when this forum went through the problems of the attempted switch over and if we can ever remember that site we might check in there again.

Play nicely with each other.

Marc and Cathy
All the best to you, Marc. Do check in on the Free side now and then. It has become the most interesting of all the Forums. Who would have thought that?
Marc, all the best. Although we haven't met, I've enjoyed getting to know you through this forum. I've enjoyed reading your trip reports and learning about your dogs.
Say it ain't so Marc.

Wow, old school week here. My first post in this part in a long time. Happy trails, Marc, to you, Ms. C and the pooches. You know where to find us so I hope we can keep in touch. Terri was talking just the other night about the last time we saw you guys; too long ago. Since I know the cesspool of the FFA is not your bag, might I suggest you hang out at least once in a while with a good number of us over on vegasmessageboard.com.
I rarely make it over here anymore, but would like to bid a fond farewell to Marc and Cathy. I always enjoyed your very informational posts!

Free boards you might like to check are lvadvice dot com and vegasmessageboard dot com

Hope to see you there!
I am at a loss as to why you are not going to renew. You gave reasons why you should. You are still coming to Vegas. Am I missing something?
Lack of substantive value, perhaps? I can't speak for Marc but I know I can address what I'd say is the larger raison d'ĂȘtre for so many of us who were active here for so long: Collegiality. The boards were our clubhouse and playroom. Coupons? Info? Lower-tier stuff for so many of us. That collegiality, bond, is gone. That means adieu for so many.
Agree wholeheartedly with both Marc and Ken. I believe I too will let my membership lapse at the end of this month. I get plenty of useful info over at LVAdvice.com which also runs much more quickly and without many of the personal BS that has transpired here over the years. I have been a subscriber for so long that I can't even remember when I joined. I'd guess 20+ years but I'm really not sure. For the LVA to lose long time members like us speaks volumes about the way the site works and the way the customer has been treated.
I know the boards aren't what they used to be, but we easily double our investment with the coupon book. We will renew next year.
