Time to bid adieu

Please hang around on the Freeside and post some Vegas and gambling related topics.

Have always enjoyed your input and friendship.

Maybe if things like the economy and board interest improve you might return to this side of LVA.

Plan to keep renewing my membership, would blow a couple $20 bills in a casino within the first couple minutes anyway. Might as well toss a couple bills this way too. Now if I could just get back to Vegas to blow those $20s.

hee hee

I'm not thinking it is about a coupon or saving a few bucks or even the minimal cost of the membership. Is there value there? Yes, of course. But we're all in it for different reasons and value has many meanings, and often it has little to nothing to do with actual dollars expended. That it still works for some is awesome.

Jeff, you should know Marc well enough after all these years to not even suggest the free side.
Marc,

I want to echo everyone else's comments. We've never met but with your thoughtul and extremely helpful posts I felt like I did get to you know a bit. Thanks so much for all of your contributions over the years. They helped to make my Vegas trip planning that much more fun and informed and my trips that much more enjoyable.

All the best to you and Cathy.

Thank you one and all. Would have replied sooner but some of you know the problems the site has had lately. Each reply has reminded me of why we valued our time here so much. It is the people. Ken hit it on the head (any wonder he is a professional writer). We will probably check in on one of the other sites and certainly looking forward to seeing old friend in Las Vegas and finally meeting those of you who replied but we haven't met yet. It is so funny. In all our meetings with folks from here in Las Vegas there was never an awkward moment the first time as we always felt we knew you and not meeting strangers.

Wow, old school week here. My first post in this part in a long time. Happy trails, Marc, to you, Ms. C and the pooches. You know where to find us so I hope we can keep in touch. Terri was talking just the other night about the last time we saw you guys; too long ago. Since I know the cesspool of the FFA is not your bag, might I suggest you hang out at least once in a while with a good number of us over on vegasmessageboard.com.

Ken, your assessment of the FFA is spot on.

Can't say that I agree with you Marc. I don't think you can get any "stranger" than us LVAers. That was the best part of it at our member meets and in the animated posts. Quite a diverse and interesting group.

Best wishes to you can Cathy.

Oh, I love this FFA snobbery!

I would never call the FFA a cesspool, because a lot of nice folks post there, including some Trip Reports.

What has become ho hum is the paid side.

But the slow page loading is tiresome. How many years now?

IMO the QOD is LVAs best feature. And it loads quickly.

Speed is the issue and O2bn is exactly right. Caused me to look elsewhere and someone above already mentioned one of the sites where I read and contribute now. It has been years waiting for an upgrade. In that time, very strange how we now have additional site options that you can pay for that were developed and installed with break-neck speed while the ongoing excuse for not upgrading here is the fact that the right developer cannot be found. Too bad really, but there are alternatives for those looking for a different customer experience.
So long! We'll soldier on without you.
Good luck Marc............I too have been a member for well over a decade and considered calling it a day but am going to continue.....I really don't care much about the coupons any more as much as at the beginning.......What I enjoy is the advice I get when I need to fix something around the house or do any other types of repair.....Change is good and it so good to move on......Good Luck and be well.
