Watson makes Jeopardy appearance on Monday

"One Note Samba"

"Samba de Uma Nota Só".

It didn't know it was the same song.

---------------------------------------------

I wouldn't know that they were the same song either.

Rick
Thanks for the reminder. I would like to tune in.

Computer would beat me in a second, cuz I have trouble remembering to answer in the
form of a question. I just want to blurt out the answer! lol

PS Forgot to watch Wheel of Fortune last Fri. That was the episode I saw them tape at Venetian.
Won't be seeing that again anytime soon..........
Computer kicked butt tonight.
A full game tomorrow (yeah!).
Winner gets a million dollars!

However, it seems Toronto is now a U.S. City.
I knew the answer was Chicago.

The best part was when Watson said

"I'll take 'Chicks dig me' for $500"
Ken Jennings made a great comeback.
But it wasn't even close to good enough. Watson ruled. And Jennings signoff was classic.

Kudos to IBM (for funding all this even at times when it seemed to be a non-stop ad for them) and to their development team.

Exciting to witness.

I'm pretty sure this is how the movie, The Terminator, began. If Watson gains an Austrian accent I think you better start stockpiling food and guns.
Sue, I knew the Chicago answer too.
However, I always thought Midway airport was named after 59th Street (which it sits on). 59th Street is called "The Midway" because of the Columbia Exposition of 1893. I used to fly out of Midway back in the 1980's.
You're right, TB, it was. Part of the University of Chicago campus is also called the Midway.

The fact that Midway was a war battle is, I think, a coincidence. The word does come from the "midway" at a fair.

I knew the answer to the Jeopardy question mostly because I knew Daniel O'Hare was a war hero. I read it somewhere once.
