What about a Nuclear Weapon Iran

nmterlv;

Not sure what you are upset about. Most of us did give a serious reply. John made a small joke. It happens here. To expect strictly serious and scholarly discourse in the Kitchen Sink of a board dedicated to Las Vegas may be a bit much to expect. A quick review of most "serious" topics here will see similiar jokes posted.
Can someone explain to me WTH is going on??

Nevermind the retaliation...Iran would be downwind of the very mushroom cloud they set off...and so would Palestine....and so would their new buddy - Iraq.

What's the saying? "Don't spit into to the wind."

That never occured to me at all. HMM,maybe they don't care?,because the know they'd probably get decimated anyway in retaliation.

Its' a pickle andy!,i tell ya,a real pickle.

Didn't Isreal get their first enriched plut. when they "hijacked" some cargo ship off the coast of S. Africa? Seems i recall that from one of my pol. sci. prof., perhaps i imagined it,oh,irrelevant now anyway.

Think you are mixing up two stories.

In 1967, following the 67 war, France stopped providing processed uranium ore (yellowcake) to the Israelis who were producing enriched plutonium of weapons grade at their Dimona nuclear facility. In 1968 the Israelis, through a European front company, arranged to ship yellowcake from Amsterdam to Italy. The Israelis met the chartered ship at sea and transferred the ore to an Israeli ship and the ore "disappeared">

In 1979 US surveillance assets picked up what was believed to be a nuclear event in the southern Indian Ocean. Though never confirmed it was believed this was a joint Israeli-South African nuclear test.

Ahhh,OK, that sounds more akin to what this oh so forgetful brain of mine recalls hearing.

It seems that everyone is sure Iran will nuke Israel. If Iran gets the capability, they then need to produce the missle capability to deliver them. It would take more than one to attack another country. This may take some time!!

History has a lesson in the Pakistani-India nuclear race. They both developed the nuclear capability and deliverability. The same arguements were there that they would soon nuke each other. They have been, thus far responsible with their destructive weapons.

The difference is that, if Iran gets the capability many other Arab nations will feel even more threatened, some are already on the road to developing their own capability and will then have to speed up development.
I believe iran already has the missiles.

The biggest problem with a nuclear iran is that they are led by crazies who may not have the common sense to restrain their use.
