What are your Superstitions?

Share your superstitions or ritual you carry out while gambling and strange things you've seen others people doing in casinos.

and Happy Friday the 13th.

I wasn't a real superstitious gambler until I started playing craps and was taught the ways of the game by fellow gamblers. And it's always interesting seeing ladies at the slots with little stuffed toys sitting around the screen and buttons.

Most interesting are the folks that cover-up parts of the reels and screens; Old man at the Palms had white posterboard cut and covering most of the screen on one of the DW machines right inside the front door. Saw another man at Harrahs with packs of cigarettes covering the 2nd and 3rd reels.
I have a Black Cat, "Becky", so I guess I'm not that superstitious.

Happy Friday the 13th Everybody !!!!

Rick
If I hit anything on any machine...slot or VP...I get up and leave because I believe it wont hit again....even though every spin is completely random from the ones that preceded it.
I always play additional spins after a big win. I once was playing next to someone who got a hand pay.
The slot attendant ask them to play off the winning spin from showing and they hit the same machine again for a second hand pay.
Ever since then I have been waiting for it to happen to me.

I don’t have a specific superstition but I seem to revisit a machine that provided a favorable return the last time I played. It could be that the machine was comfortable to play or the fact that at many of our local gaming venues the choice of machines is limited.

I also notice that I sometimes consider the fact that I selected clothing that I wore the last time I had a good playing session. That again could be related to comfort level.

I have noticed some strange behavior in casinos. I observed a man playing VP and he would point to the screen and then take his fingers to his eyes and go back and forth whit this action while whistling and making inaudible chants. I first thought it was a joke or something but he kept this activity up until he must have gone broke and left because I never saw him hit anything.

I have been accosted on more than one occasion by individuals who claim I am playing their machine. Some can be quite intimidating while suggesting you vacate.
I have a stupid key charm that I got from the Riv on our first trip. I is suppose to be some kinda lucky charm. I carry it everytime I play. I have dropped it in the middle of a casino only to find it an hour later. It is either like a bad penny or meant for me. LOL

I wanted to get married on a Friday the 13th, but didn't work out.
Superstitions are bad luck

Playing poker against gamblers named after cities or states is bad luck

Playing blackjack against dealers named Doc is bad luck

If you are sixty and a cute twenty-five year-old says "Hi good looking", run, that's real bad luck!

Oh, and gambling with the money that you were going to take your wife out to dinner at Picasso with might also be bad luck (I've heard)
This isn't supersition, it's science but NOahcat's lucky glitter hand disinfect is lucky though a little drying. Blue chips are the good color for me if I ever happen to play Roulette.
While not really superstitious, I find that cocktail servers who deliver a never ending stream of top shelf double scotches to my full pay video poker machine certainly contribute to a good nights play - and I do reward them generously. and I don't have a good evening when I have to search around for someone to bring drinks. So - my superstition is - Cocktail Servers - and lots of 'em!!!
Just before I start a video poker session, I'll pat myself on the back and say "Good luck." You have to be good to yourself to let good things happen to you.
