100,000 American dead...

...Time for trumps victory lap.

And to him it's "only" 100,000.

That's 25,000 Benghazis.

But the stock market is recovering! Nothing else matters!

He loves numbers....

40% of those deaths belong to Cuomo who infected the tri-state area.

How about some blame for those who chose to ignore directives to reduce the spread?  Science based, applicable to any transmissible disease let alone a pandemic.  And the "not me" tendancy of Americans to believe risks do not apply to them.   People don't see themselves as 1 in 100K.  The data is seen as news, not warning, warning, mayday, mayday as it should have been put out there.

Again, no consistency of mandates---this governor wants a lock down, that governor said we can't afford it.  Mobs crusaded for both, governors waffled.

This place of business said masks optional (well, they didn't say it, they just didn't enforce it, or anything).  Few enforced it (until very recently in my city).  Only hospitals and doctors' offices enforced it.

Pastors, who are actually very influential with their flocks, did a lot of damage advocating gathering in spite of directives.  They actually could have helped stop the spread more than some in leadership positions.

Given choices, Americans aren't very good at denying themselves the pleasures they have been used to, especially when nothing was reeeaaallllyyy enforced.

And I agree Trump has been a terrible role model.  I actually don't think he needs a mask when standing up on a podium 50 feet away, but he should have anyway.  It says something when a leader doesn't follow rules when everyone else around him does.  It says "not me, I probably won'd get it."  Bad example.

"It's just the flu," " if you're sick but feel like it, go to work," "we have it well under control," "it's contained," "15 cases, going to zero," "one day it will magically disappear," "hydroychloraquine is a game changer," "warmer weather in April will eliminate it,"  "we're doing a wonderful job", oh, and don't forget to drink your Bleach-tini and follow it with a Lysol shot.  Cheers!

Really????-------- "And I agree Trump has been a terrible role model.  I actually don't think he needs a mask when standing up on a podium 50 feet away, but he should have anyway." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well I have this to say 1). After all this time if one is going to need a "role model" to help them make a decision to wear a mask - then they are obviously too stupid to make that decision.  2). I find it ironic that in one breath you say " I actually don't think he needs a mask and then you say " but he should " - I ask, what kind of logic is that?

I said, or meant, that when I go for my daily walk around the neighborhood I don't wear a mask.  I'm not close to anybody.  In Walmart they don't require a mask but I wear one.  The official CDC recommendation is "maintain distance of 6 feet, or if that is not possible then wear a mask."  It just isn't 100% possible to avoid at least passing by another shopper inside of 6 feet.  But a speaker (Trump, or anybody) on a podium is usually more than 6 feet from anyone, so why would a mask be necessary?  Not, except for role modeling.  I can say for certainty as a former manager my behavior was paramount in expecting the appropriate behaviors from my staff, so I was always careful to "model" by doing more than required.  If I took liberties, they took liberties.  When Trump doesn't wear a mask when standing next to and conferring with others who ARE wearing masks, he is thumbing his nose at the recommendations for preventing the spread.   No, he doesn't need a mask if 20 feet away on the podium, but people look to the leader whether they like that leader or not.  Trump doesn't wear a mask, why should I go to the trouble of wearing one...is what would be in the minds of some.  Not all, but some.

Agree with Dealer1, those soft-soap messages didn't help one bit, coming from Trump or the governor or anybody.  However, I didn't hear him say anything about bleach, and anyone who drinks bleach or lysol deserves the outcome.
