31 Right Wing Terrorists Arrested In Idaho

Idaho police officers on Saturday arrested 31 people who are believed to be affiliated with the White nationalist group called Patriot Front, after they were seen gathering near a Pride parade in the city of Coeur d'Alene, police said.

"It is clear to us based on the gear that the individuals had with them, the stuff they had in their possession, the U-Haul with them along with paperwork that was seized from them, that they came to riot downtown," Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White said during a news conference.

The FBI is assisting local police in its investigation, according to FBI Public Affairs Specialist Sandra Yi Barker. Barker said Coeur d'Alene police are the lead law enforcement agency investigating the situation, CNN reported.

The people who were arrested were all wearing similar clothing associated with Patriot Front, including identical insignia, and there was at least one smoke grenade in their possession, police said. They were still being processed at the time of the news conference and have not yet been identified.

Idaho is quite possibly the most alt-right wackadoodle state in the US. They recently passed draconian anti-abortion laws (that are flagrantly unconstitutional but will certainly survive challenges in Idaho courts). The state has always been a haven for gun love freaks and little boys (age 10 to 80) who dress up in camo and go out into the woods on weekends to string up barbed wire and play soldier.

Y'know how conservatives claim to embrace all them cherished American values? Like free speech and free expression? Then they plan to start riots when people exercise those very rights. Just like the Proud Boys et al did during the BLM protests.

The place is absolutely beautiful--I've gone camping up in the Sawtooths and gone sailing on Coeur D' Alene Lake--but sweet Jesus, the people are ugly. And I'm not talking about appearance.

Oddly enough only one of the terrorists was from Idaho. The rest were from out of state.

Apparently the Nut Boys or whatever they call themselves thought that Idaho would be a just dandy place to start an anti-gay riot. I suspect they were right. The people in the Pride parade were putting their lives on the line just by being there.

CdA is an interesting little city. It's a crossroads (I-90 and US 95) and a commercial and cultural center. That means it's a bit more sophisticated than the surrounding areas--which are infestations of neo-Nazis and gun freaks. Quite a few white supremacist groups hold camp-outs in the surrounding forests on a regular basis.

I wonder if the Nut Boys were the only ones plotting to disrupt the Pride parade. I'm sure that not all the spectators were, um, friendly. What strikes me is how brazen these clowns were--I mean, paramilitary uniforms, precise written instructions, weaponry, the whole package. It's like they seriously didn't expect to be hindered at all.

Seems to be a nationally coordinated effort as they attempted the same stunt in San Francisco. I suspect we will see more right-wing terroist activity as the month goes on.

That's interesting, because the local authorities would be a LOT less welcoming in SFO than in Upper Potato Head Land. Some of the stories I've read imply that the Idiot Boys or whatever they call themselves were stopped because of the actions of a "concerned citizen" and the local authorities were initially dismissive of the threat. Then the feds stepped in.

I think you're right in that right-wing terrorism is on the rise. They've been emboldened by the wrist-slaps or no punishment whatsoever that the insurrectionists have received, the complete lack of prosecution of the Kenosha Killer Kid, etc. etc. etc. Part of that lack of effort by law enforcement and other authorities has been due to the RepubliQ bleating about the supposed "rights" of the terrorists. Then, when pressed on the issue, they wheel out the cherished false equivalence argument: "ANTIFA ANTIFA ANTIFA!!!!!!!!:, as one of our more evil and stupid participants here predictably did.
