39 Republican Senators voted against a federal law guaranteeing access to contraception.

Only two voted in favor. 

That's because they know there are a lot of Red States that want to ban birth control.

There is no threat to contraception in the US, so this was just a sham piece of legislation.

Here are the problems with the bill

But the bill includes a line stating that it "applies notwithstanding any other provision of Federal law, including the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993." That law essentially protects individuals' right to religious freedoms. Republicans argue waiving that law amounts to a "poison pill" in the bill that would force religious institutions to provide contraceptives. "They've said basically, 'Contraception is gonna be allowed everywhere, regardless of your faith, your background, your institution,'" Sen. James Lankford, a Republican from Oklahoma, said. "That's the No. 1 issue with it."

 Like other Republicans, Lankford is also opposed to certain forms of medical care for transgender youth. The bill includes "sterilization" under its definition of contraception, which he argued would interfere with state-level bans on gender-affirming care for people under 18. "This would remove that right from all those states to say they're protecting minors," Lankford said.

The legislation would wipe away conscience protections, make it impossible to cut off contraception funding to organizations like Planned Parenthood that provide abortions and define contraception so broadly that it could cover abortifacients.

Almost all Senate Republicans believe that people of all faiths, backgrounds, and institutions should be able to pass laws that imprison those who use birth control.

That's why it's called authoritarianism.

If so, Tom, you stupid clown, why did they vote against the bill? If they had no intentions of ever interfering with contraception, it would have cost them nothing to vote for it.

Tom, they want to control every aspect of your life including what you do in the privicy of your bedroom.

They want to control what business can say and do to make sure it matches the goals of the state.

They want the military to occupy blue cities to stifle dissent.

They have their own media that doesn't stick to any objective facts and instead sells their fascist policies.

They censor what is taught in school, for example black history, so there is no history of the chosen race doing anything evil.

I'm old enough to remember when Republicans wanted government out of our lives.   They didn't want seatbelt laws because they wanted the freedom of flying through the windshield.   But they don't want the freedom to use condoms.

They have never said they want to ban condoms.
