I just don't understand how he thinks the midterms, however well they turn out for Republicans, will end "the corrupt, traitorous brain dead Biden socialist DemocRatic regime" in 50 days.
Until at least Jan. 20, 2025, Biden will still be Commander-in-Chief and determine U.S. foreign policy. All the executive agencies, DOJ, State, Treasury, HHS, Homeland Security etc will still be controlled by Biden. Like all presidents, he can and will continue to issue executive orders and nominate federal judges and a lot more.
"The traitorous brain dead Biden" has already passed most of his climate change, infrastructure, Medicare drug pricing reform, and gun control legislation that was possible with a Democratic Congress, so a Republican Congress will not make a huge difference since not much legislatively will occur whichever party controls Congress during the next two years.
I've tried to school him, that no transition of power will happen on the day of election regardless of the results. But the way he rolls, he considers it less painful to go on saying the same wrong thing over and over than to admit he's wrong. It's called cognitive dissonance.
And yes, as you point out, even in the event of a complete rout in favor of the RepubliQ, Biden would still be President and a Republican Senate would be unable to force through anything drastic--the filibuster, so often the RepubliQ's friend recently, would now be their enemy--so those fantasies of passing the Niggers Can't Vote Act or Guns For Toddlers will remain just that--fantasies. We'll certainly see Lady Lindsey's Handmaids Tale legislation at least brought to the floor for debate, but progress beyond that? Naah.
I find it kind of interesting, and heartening, that the RepubliQ is still buying into their self-generated hype about riding a red wave to total control of the country (a la David's stentorian rhetoric), when what they should be doing is trying to avoid getting their asses kicked. Moscow Mitch, amoral scumbag that he may be, realizes that, but none of the RepubliQ brain trust seem to.
