6 months in and failing

Trump set the deadline and failed to meet it. MAGA folks repeated the deadline. Failure for both Trump and MAGA.

Liberals get caught up in unimportant details and can't see the forest for the trees.  Yes, tariffs will bring short term pain, yet will return long term gain.  Hell, Kevin believes that our debt doesn't matter, for God's sake.  Psycho.

President Donald Trump’s hike in tariffs is projected to generate enough revenue to cut federal deficits by $4 trillion over the next decade, according to the latest analysis by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

Yep, the CBO takes a tax increase or decrease, and spits out data...while making the assumption that such changes have no effect on the economy.  It's simple math, and their calculations are used regularly for partisan reasons.  In this case, they assume that Trump plans to continue these tariffs indefinitely, so the generate this inaccurate data.  The US will have much more fair trade arrangements when Trump leaves office in a decade or two.

You haven't yet told us why trade with our present trade war enemies was "unfair." You also haven't told us why we traded anyway.

Because you can't.

The CBO's projections are accurate, but because they depict Trump squarely at the wheel of a bus going over a cliff, you say they're not to be believed. If they had reported good news, you would be praising them from the rooftops.

Yep, which only leaves $16 trillion more to make up ($2 trillion a year from his tax breaks for the rich).

Do you seriously think Trump had the intellect, or cared, to figure that out? We know YOU didn't! 😄😄😄

Stupid Trump-licking Tom.

I never mentioned tariffs, I've found that you like to argue points that you think you can "win". I said he has not lowered prices, specifically on day 1. Which I take as an overall decrease in prices, has that happened?

No kidding, when you raise taxes, you have the opportunity to decrease the deficit. Tariffs are a consumption tax, are you in favor of codifying a consumption tax to replace income tax, without any carveouts? It's a very regressive tax, so the middle class and lower-income folks would be hit the hardest.

I used to be in favor of a consumption tax when I was younger, but now I understand how difficult it would be to implement not without burdening younger people trying to raise a family and enjoy their lives.

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released its second estimate of Q2 GDP, which showed the economy grew at a 3.3% rate. That figure was faster than the 3.1% estimate of economists polled by LSEG, and above the Commerce Department's initial Q2 GDP estimate of 3%.

He failed at many of his promises, how does that have anything to do with the failure we're watching now

Finally a usual suspect admits biden was a failure.

I gave you a partial list if his success; not bad for 8 months.  You are hung up on Russia, you can't have peace if the 2 parties don't want it.

I don't believe your partial list are successes. The 1 million self deportations is a suspect number, look into if you want. By the way, if you want to come back at me for being the "usual suspects" for wanting open borders, well, you haven't been paying attention.

When will Trump have an immigration policy? He failed the first time around.

I doubt that 1 in 1000 MAGAs knows what a regressive tax is or why it's unfair. Trump has essentially made the federal tax system far more regressive. That's great if youre a billionaire. Not so much if you're trying to feed a family.

Interesting fact from my corner of the world: Idaho, a veritable MAGA paradise these days, has a 6% sales tax on food. That's regressive with a capital R.

He didn't say Biden was a failure; he said that he had failed at many things. As has every other human being who has ever walked this earth. Like Trump. Like you (especially).
