It all comes down to compassion. Do you have it? Then you're willing to give food to someone without subjecting them to a third degree about how worthy they are. You don't? Then you don't give anything to anybody.

And since so many conservatives are religious (or pretend to be), they have to dredge up a reason (excuse) for their lack of compassion. Jesus didn't say we should make everyone fill out a means test form before they receive our charity. So how do you, Bible thumper, reconcile your lack of compassion with your professed standing as a good Christian? Hmmmmm....

I never said any such thing and I'm not "bragging" about the Obama economy--I didn't create it.

You can believe whatever you want to. Yeah, Obama, no-good black man, ruined the economy and only noble Donald Trump, charging in on his white horse, arrived just in the nick of time and created the BIGLIEST BESTEST MOSTEST FANTASTIC ECONOMY IN THE HISTORY OF THE GALAXY.

That's the only narrative you'll believe. So why discuss anything else? You're a blinded Trump lackey and incapable of understanding.

I have no "compassion" for those who work the system at tax payers expense. 

The real problem, of course, is the misperception of people on SNAP benefits as a bunch of freeloading welfare cheats. That's a very standard (and tiresome) conservative talking point, but the truth is that food stamp/SNAP fraud is and historically has been less than 1%.

I for one can live with that. So a few people game the system. So what? The overall dollar impact is trivial--especially when you consider that even fraudulently obtained SNAP benefits benefit the local economy, as they're spent locally.

So this is not something that anyone, even mean-spirited conservatives, should get their panties in a twist about.
