A disingenuous argument because they were conservatives. Goldwater and Nixon opted for the southern stratgey to run on racial greviance.  By the 1980s the realingment of the parties was complete and the biggoted conservatives were now Republicans.  The centerpiece of the modern Republican Party electoral policy is still the southern strategy and they have expanded it to include Hispanics and gay folks. Why does the Republican Party to this day still have to appeal to simple minded bigots to win elections?

Boilerboob knows as well as we do that in the 19th century, the Republicans and Democrats were the exact opposite of their current selves. The Republicans were the sane ones and the Democrats were the racist Southern crazies.

But there's always been one constant. From the KKK to lynch mobs to MAGA, it's always been the right wing that resorts to violence.

How about the radical BLM riots?  You guys are blind and deaf.  How about the riots about ATF enforcing our law?  You people are horrible.
