About 1,000 "taxpayers" making over $1 million a year failed to even file returns at least once, 2017-2021.

Please tell me, is that worse than swiping a shelf full of Extra Strength Tylenol at Walgreens?

Tax evasion is extremely Trumpy, and therefore sacrosanct to the RepubliQ. So not only is it not worse, it's actually praiseworthy.

With 79,000 employees & a $14B budget why didn't the IRS do their job?

Please tell me, is that worse than swiping a shelf full of Extra Strength Tylenol at Walgreens?

$112b in retail theft; stores closing all over the country & resulting loss of jobs is a lot worse.

“We cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance,” Target said in a statement

People are not stealing Tylenol.

Last time I checked Apple, Foot Locker & Lulumon don't sell Tylenol.  Looting the last 2 nights in Philly.  These events now occur every few days.

On Tuesday, mobs of young adults and teenagers looted multiple upscale retail stores like Apple, Lululemon and Footlocker in several parts of Philadelphia.

All Fine Wine & Good Spirits liquor stores will be shut down in Philadelphia Wednesday after an hours-long crime spree rocked the city the previous night after 18 stores were looted.

Looting continued last night.

Tom brags about the number of IRS agent that is 35,000 fewer than 10 years ago.

The IRS was defunded under DOnald Trump and did over a half million fewer annual audits than before his administration.   KNow why?   The tax cheating, business-fraud president told his base the IRS was a Deep State boogeyman out to get Republicans.   And ignorant people like Tom believed him and supported his efforts.  Now lots of tax cheating business frauds dont pay taxes.

Joe Biden's administration refunded the IRS to get it back to pre-Trump staffing levels which is ongoing.   Tom had a really big problem with that endeavor because Tom still subscribes to the conspiracy theories of the guy currently indicted for 91 felonies.

And thats the price you pay for living in a Democracy.   If half the country subscribes to the same mental patient conspiracies Tom does then you get policy that caters to Deep State crusaders instead of common sense.

There were 39,000 invetigators in 2010 (obama) and 37,600 at the end of 2016 (obama) & 35,400 in 2020 (Trump).  So it was obama who cut the staff.  With 35,000 investigators, the IRS had more than enough staff to investigate why 1,000 people didn't file; (one of them was the biden's son).

In addition to subscribing to conspiray theories - Tom also just makes shit up.  What a guy !

How the IRS was gutted

The IRS conducted 675,000 fewer audits in 2017 than it did in 2010, a drop in the audit rate of 42 percent.

- New investigations of “nonfilers,” as they’re called, dropped from 2.4 million in 2011 to 362,000 lin 2017.

- IRS budget went from 14 billion in 2011 to 12 billion in 2017.

- As of 2017, the IRS had 9,510 auditors. That’s down a third from 2010.

You can thank the tax cheat ex-president and the  pushover suckers in his base who believe him for this data and the policy that led to it.   ANd you can also thank them for kicking and screaming at the Biden administration to restore the IRS to prior levels.    Well done, Tom !

Of course if you shoplift Extra Strength Tylenol from Walgreens, the wrath of tom will descend upon you!

We can only attribute stupid Tommie-poo's rabid opposition to properly funding the IRS to his fear that he will be prosecuted. His mommy fills out his tax returns, and she puts "ZERO" on every line. He has reason to worry!

I can't figure out if mp is stupid or can't read.

Chicago

In October of 2021, the I-Team reported the Mag Mile had more than a 19% vacancy rate. Now, Vance said it's up to almost 27%.

Theft in the Chicago Police Department’s 18th District—a nearly 5-square-mile area bounded by Lake Michigan, the Chicago River and Fullerton Avenue, and which includes the Magnificent Mile—increased 74% from January 2022 through early November compared with the same period in 2020, department data shows. Car thefts have more than doubled in the district over the past two years. And while burglaries are down by more than half, robbery is up 22%.

San Fran

At least 22 big-name businesses have closed or announced plans to flee the area around San Francisco's Union Square since January 2022, due to crime including trendy retailers like Anthropologie, Banana Republic and Crate & Barrel, as well as the investment firm that owns two of the city's biggest hotels

Tom kind of schooled you there MP.

As to the topic, the tax system needs to be simplified.  But that has been said now for about 40 years.  Our dumb politicians (both sides) can't seem to get it done.  We wouldn't need 79,000 or 39,000 IRS agents if it got done.
