Honest Abe knew 150 years ago about the DemocRatic party -

Sorta like the republican party is doing as we speak.

I think he was talking about those folks with the Confederate Flag.     Does anyone know which party they affiliate with in 2020?

Lincoln would be appalled at how Trump and his Republican lackeys are shitting on the Constitution and our nation's laws and values.

He would be saddened by all the crowds of Nazis at Trump's rallies, cheering him on as he attempts to destroy our democracy.

Honest Abe was speaking about the DemocRatic party then, and it applies now.

1. There was and is no such thing as the "DemocRatic party," any more than there is any such thing as the "RepuBliCaN party." The name of the party The Penis refers to is "the Democratic party." Capitalization matters.

2. There is no evidence that Lincoln ever said that or anything close to it. Conservative social media trolls have been kicking it around for some time now, falsely attributing it to Lincoln.

3. In fact, the closest this "quote" comes to is an excerpt from a 1950 speech by Joseph McCarthy.

4. There is no evidence that if he said this at all, he was speaking about any political party.

So The Penis is lying again. He just spreads propaganda and internet memes, without bothering to check their authenticity.

Perhaps if he wants to lie and say that a given person said something, he should provide corroboration.

The quote which initiated this thread is, indeed, inaccurate, . . . rated "mostly false" by Politifact .

Nonetheless, Politifact does say the quote is "close to something he actually said".

 It is the thought that counts, even if not correctly quoted. Therefore, the ones who dismiss it's content because it is not correctly quoted verbatim, are idiots.
