Want a list of red states where Democrats are underrepresented?
I bet those 9 states have 80 congressmen
NY has 26 seats but only 7 republicans and they are trying to make it 5

Those 9 states have far fewer total than that. Most on the list have four or fewer. So...you lose.
A district doesn't automatically elect a Congressional representative of the same party as the majority of its voters. In NY state, Republicans lose because they're raving Trumper assholes and don't get much support even from the cult.
This redistricting wouldn't even be happening if Tay-ucks-ass wasn't trying to disenfranchise everyone who doesn't suck Trump's dick. Don't whine, baby stupid Tom; turnabout is fair play.

The biggest 3 blue states in the country currently have bipartisan commissions draw up the districts. The biggest 3 red states do not - they are already gerrymandered by the ruling party. Trumps plan is to gerrymander them even more.
if all 3 blue states change their process to match Republicans then the GOP will have a very hard time winning the house again. Trump didn't do the math very well.
understand if we go down this road we will have House that is completey comprised of Matt Gaetz and AOC clones with nobody in the middle. Does anyone honestly want that?

Why do we even have Congressional districts? We could choose representatives by popular vote. Voters statewide would cast a single universal ballot for "Republican" or "Democrat" representation. Then the available seats would be divided up according to the proportions of those votes. For instance, State X has 45 seats. Voters slightly favor "Democrat." Thus, 23 seats are awarded to Democrats, and 22 to Republicans. That would be quite fair, and would end MAGA efforts to disenfranchise voters.
The Republican agenda is to make opposition votes count for less than theirs. It's working in Tay-ucks-ass.
The controlling party in a state legislature should be Constitutionally forbidden from changing the districts map, because as the Republipigs have shown, when they get in power, they use that power to cheat. As PJ said, that will lead to every state having total one-party rule.
But who honestly wants that, PJ? Republipigs do. Because they're prepared to blatantly wipe out the ability of non-Republicans to have their voices heard, while they know that blue state leaders won't be that unprincipled.
The side that fights dirty, the side with no conscience, ethics, or morals, ultimately wins. That's why the Republipigs are successfully doing horrible things no one thought they would ever try.

The democrat legislature in NY rejected the commissions and drew their own map. It was so bad the democrat Supreme court rejected it. The legislature drew a less bad map even thoug it was uncontitutional for them to do it.
Illinois drew an F for their gerrymandering
In Ca there are only 10 Republicans out of 30 members.

Illinois has 4 Republicans out of 17 seats. Not much they can do there.
Ca has 9 Republicans; again not much there.
Meanwhile Florida, Ohio, Tn, Indiana and Ga can redistrict to start. After Az kicks hobbs out next year they can redistrict. Some of the black districts in the South may be in violation of the Voting Rights Act
Anyway to be fair, I think the districts should be drawn in squares not these rorschach tests

The overriding fact is that the DemocRATs have gerrymandered many states to favor DemocRAT representation in Congress for decades. These corrupt DemocRATs have illegally controlled Congress many a year because of this gerrymandering - and because of this Congress has not been able to enact legislation that benefitted America and Americans and only benefitted the DemocRATs anti- America agendas.
I will take the AOC clones. The GOP is a party of extremism populated by extremists. Most Americans want what AOC does: better healthcare, more consumer protections, wage growth that keeps pace with inflation, affordable housing, affordable college and an overall higher standard of living for Americans. In essence an American Government that realizes it's job is the betterment of it's citizens not large corporations and special interests.
The GOP has managed to convince people, including PJ, that these positions are extreme. That's sad.
