Alito Had Another Insurrection Flag Flying At His Beach House

This time, it was the “Appeal to Heaven” flag, which, like the inverted U.S. flag, was carried by rioters at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Also known as the Pine Tree flag, it dates back to the Revolutionary War, but largely fell into obscurity until recent years and is now a symbol of support for former President Donald J. Trump, for a religious strand of the “Stop the Steal” campaign and for a push to remake American government in Christian terms.

Three photographs obtained by The New York Times, along with accounts from a half-dozen neighbors and passers-by, show that the Appeal to Heaven flag was aloft at the Alito home on Long Beach Island in July and September of 2023. A Google street view image from late August also shows the flag.

Justice Alito declined to respond to questions about the beach house flag, including what it was intended to convey and how it comported with his obligations as a justice. The court also declined to respond. 

I guess he hasn't found someone to take the fall for him yet. Maybe he should try blaming his dog this time. The wife did it because the neighbor made her mad isn't going to fly this time.  I suspect the Times is slow-rolling this story with more to come.

Which one of his family members is he throwing under the bus for this one?

Amazing, actually, that he feels so serene and shameless in identifying himself as an unrepentant insurrectionist. I guess he knows he can't be impeached, and the whole nose-in-the-air attitude of the conservative Supremes is that they don't have to care what anybody thinks.

On the bright side, Alito wasn't seen taking a knee during the anthem.   Cause that's a line the Confederate flag waving insurrectionists just won't abide

Could you have imagined that a modern democracy would ever have someone who enthusiastically supported the violent overthrow of the government sitting on the nation's highest court?

That's like making Al Capone chairman of the Federal Reserve. Or maybe making Jeffrey Dahmer head of the FDA.

What flag was upside down?

No.  I can only imagine Liberals lying about intent.  Yet no imagination necessary.

And second, how do YOU know enough about Alito's intent to call others who don't concur with you liars?
