Anonymous during a AMA (ask me anything) session, said he would reveal their idenity before the 2020 elections.  If this person is the real deal, it confirms that Trump is unfit to be president.  It shows Republican congress, Pence, Barr and a whole bunch of others have a wet noodle for a backbone.  They will distance themselves from the president, will plead ignorance, say they didn't have a clue.

You're speculating about whether an Anonymous Internet poster with a book deal is 'the real deal'?  Sounds more like a partisan hack with an agenda. You can find them all over Washington.

But then you take it a step further and claim to know what it 'really' shows and what's going to happen next.  I bet you bought into the phoney Steele Dossier too, didn't you?  Some people never learn.

Because Trump has said repeatedly that he'd like to have the whistleblower executed as a "spy."

I would imagine that Sean Hannity is coming in his pants at the thought, and there are hundreds of gun-toting MAGA goons who would be crazy enough to try killing the whistleblower. So it's better that he remain anonymous for now.

Also--and no Trumper scum has answered this simple question, due to cowardice--does who the whistleblower actually is even matter at this point? What he reported has been shown to be accurate, even confirmed by the White House. Devin Nunes et al. want to beat him up in public to somehow disprove his allegations. Doing so would also serve as a brief distraction from Trump's crimes. That's the only reason to identify him at this point.

I hope we all agree that time will tell, whether anonymous is a partisan hack with an agenda, or that the Trump administration is questioning the competency of the president.  If the latter is true, Will the republicans continue to defend the president?  What would it take for you personally to change your stance on the president?

What if he IS "a partisan hack with an agenda" (which would certainly be a value judgment)? If his reporting is accurate, what does it matter? If Person A reports a crime committed by Person B, it doesn't matter how Person A feels about Person B--what will be considered is the evidence.

There's already far, far more evidence, and the testimony of dozens of people, that Trump's staff questions his competency and in fact, goes to great lengths to correct his mistakes when they can and keep information from him when showing it to him might have consequences.

Will Republicans continue to defend the President? Yes, up to but not past the point where doing so damages their own personal political interests. So far, they're holding the party line. That can change in a hurry, though, as it did with Nixon. But the Republican Party is much more radical and clings to orthodoxy much more than in 1975.

Our Trumpers would defend Trump even if he sold Alaska back to the Russians and raped an entire Girl Scout troop on the White House lawn. There is literally nothing he could say or do that would break their slavish loyalty. After all, they know (however they may try to deny it) that he's a criminal, a crook, a con man, a serial liar, a traitor, a rapist, and perhaps worst of all---an incompetent idiot. Despite all that, they continue to line up to lick his balls. What else could Trump possibly do that would cross the line for them? There is no such line!
