Why is it a dilemma? Clearly, whatever the Republican party has, in your view, metamorphosed into, you can acknowledge that they're 99% drooling Trump butt-slaves (the few apostates having been cast out), and since you profess to loathe the man, I would think you wouldn't want to align yourself with them any more.

 

The Democrats aren't a model of perfection by a damn sight, but they seem to be a LOT closer to common decency than Republicans these days. That makes my decision easy. 

 

I do realize that even Vance and Trump's horrid "eating cats" racist lies weren't enough to put off tens of millions of voters, so maybe I'm in the minority with that common decency nonsense.
