You say "in evidence," but this situation has never existed before. The side in power has NEVER said preemptively that they wouldn't negotiate at all. Nor has that side's President shut down all negotiations and ordered his lackeys to run away from Washington!
You keep referring to past events, but that viewpoint is useless when considering the present situation. In the past, there was always dialogue and negotiation, whatever the level of emnity may have been. Now, for the first time in US history, one side is not only refusing to negotiate, they're leaving town! How can any deal be struck if the Republiholes do that???
I do hope you're right, as a government shutdown hurts everybody and costs money. My only source of optimism is that the stupid fucking evil asshole Republipigs may come to dimly realize that this shutdown shit will hurt them more than the Democrats. The only language bullies understand!
