Any predictions about the debate?

You guys know that there are no drugs that will enhance cognitive performance, right?  Stimulants like amphetamines will improve alertness and the anti-dementia drugs have subtle effects at best.

Really? --There are many drugs that can enhance cognitive performance, including: Cholinesterase inhibitors (ChEIs) These drugs, such as donepezil (Aricept®), rivastigmine (Exelon®), and galantamine (Reminyl®), increase acetylcholine levels, which are important for memory and learning. ChEIs are often prescribed to treat symptoms related to memory, thinking, and language in patients with Alzheimer's disease and other conditions. -- https://www.google.com/search?q=drugs+that+will+enhance+cognitive+performance&oq=drugs+that+will+enhance+cognitive+performance&aqs=chrome..69i57.8384j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Dont you worry one little bit.   Regardless of the debate performance we can count on the NY Post to publish an edited video of the debate that will affirm whatever narrative David and Tom want.   That way they can sleep well at night.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved medicines to treat symptoms at different stages of Alzheimer's disease — mild, moderate and severe. These stages are based on scores on tests that assess memory, awareness of time and place, thinking, and reasoning. Most people with Alzheimer's disease take one or more of these medicines at some time during treatment: Cholinesterase (ko-lin-ES-tur-ays) inhibitors. Memantine. Brexpiprazole.

Yes, stupid, and if Biden was taking those medications, stupid, we'd already know about it, stupid; you know damn well, stupid, that what you've been bleating about, stupid, is Biden supposedly getting amphetamines before, for instance, his SoU speech.

Stupid Tom, you're a disingenuous hypocrite.

And you're stupid.

Everyone with a functioning brain knows.

Why would we know?

Again, the effects of any of those medications are subtle at best, I could post plenty of supporting evidence if I wanted to spend my time with that; suffice it to say that I did this stuff for a living for many years.  And no, Joe Biden doesn't have Alzheimer's disease, at his age the expected rate of progression would make it pretty damned obvious to anyone.

Agree.  The latest one (I actually wondered...hmm, buy some stock?) has already been pulled.

My dad, first on Cognex then Aricept, no significant improvement.  Had lived healthy, very active life, etc prior to onset of symptoms. One day he collapsed, was revived (against his DNR wish but that's another story), lived eight days in vegetative state (per neurological criteria).  Autopsy showed massive MI (age 85 but high functioning for age).  A doctor friend advised that Harvard was performing studies on brains to distinguish Alzeimer's vs other dementia, so we sent his brain to Harvard.  Family joke, Dad went to Harvard.  Anyway, we had hoped it would show NOT Alz, the genetic prediction for the rest of us, etc., maybe something else.  But alas, his brain had the fibrillary tangles and tau proteins, markers for Alz.

Horrible disease, not to be joked about or wished on anyone's worst enemy.

Candy

There are other mental diseases that have similar symptoms to Alzheimers - they have similar symptons in common and these symptoms indicate mental deterioration and loss of cognitive function. There are drugs that have some temporary positive effects but these drugs do not stop the progression and loss of mental functions as seen in Biden.

Compare biden with Sanders & who do people think is more alert?

Ever since Mr. Trump fell asleep during his criminal trial, poor tom can't use the term "sleepy."
