It seems that declaring war, though mandated by the Constitution, is regarded by Republicans as a silly little formality. Congress just reached out and tore up the War Powers Act and told Trump, "Kill whoever you want."
Iran historically has made very few direct attacks on US facilities, bases, ships, etc. and none on US soil (to the best of my recollection). There's no rational reason to engage in an all-out war with them.
I do think that Trump has given Iran a golden opportunity as well as the perfect justification for a direct attack on the US. And the incompetent lackeys and sycophants who serve the Turd will never see it coming.
