Republicans throw themselves on the floor and start screaming and kicking their legs in the air when they don't get everything they want. Democrats act in the best interests of their country.
Schumer doesn't like government shutdowns as much as MAGA does. We know that MAGA hates government; hates the law; hates civil rights; hates equality. So shutting down the government that protects all of us would have been a win for MAGA.
Schumer was too smart to let a Republican-style government shutdown happen.
