At the Books, . . . Super Bowl Sunday - 2021

It seems the line has been lowered from KC -3 1/2. to KC -3 at pretty much all the Las Vegas casinos, and according to the  Las Vegas Review Journal  the books may lose some big-bucks if Kansas City wins, but doesn't cover the spread.

"The worst-case scenario for BetMGM would be if the Chiefs won by three. If that happens, the book would pay out all Bucs bets at +3½ and refund all bets at 3.

The best-case scenario at most books, including William Hill, Station and the Westgate, would be for Kansas City to win but not cover."

I have a feeling its not going to be close and I dont even have  a prediction of  what team will win.   Either Tampa can contain the KC offense or they cant.   We'll find out shortly.

Awfully quiet here.  PJ was right.  IMO in the first 10 minutes (or so, mostly regarding the first few Tampa possessions), I thought the Bucs were in for a flogging.  Looked like Tampa defense was busy scratching their butts while KC offense was making some easy runs past the line.

After Tampa's first touchdown and the slew of holding penalties against KC, it was mostly all over from there.  The air sure went out of KC.  And that last minute end zone interception by Tampa...talk about salt in a wound.  Not that a catch by KC at that point would have changed anything (except some wagers, perhaps).  It sure lit up big smiles on Brady and company, like it was a last second one pointer to win.

Got to give kudos to Mahomes for his very gracious post game commentary.  Even one of the announcers said he thought the refs were calling it harder against KC.

JMHO/uneducated analysis of the game.  LOL.

If I were a fan of conspiracy theories, I would say that the refs conspired to give Tom Brady one final feather in his cap in order to boost his 2024 Presidential run. But that would be silly, because the Republican party doesn't nominate B-movie actors or reality TV show con men--they only nominate people who are qualified for the job (pardon me while I die laughing).

And y'know, I wish I was completely kidding. But we already have an example of a GOP candidate being elected Senator for no good reason other than that he's a successful football coach. Brady in 2024!!!!
