So much of what I've read from the MAGA propaganda mill, seen in the posts by our resident MAGA morons, and heard at the local coffee shop (a nasty old fart hangout) suggests that many Americans (mostly conservatives) believe that the Bill of Rights only applies to American citizens. A further subset believes that it only applies to people who are in this country legally.

Now, I know that a LOT of MAGAs kant spel or reed. God knows, Miller, Tom, and Boiler are hideous examples of that. But can they truly not understand what the Bill of Rights means by "persons"? Not just "Americans." Persons.

Subsequent civil rights legislation, throughout our history, also states that civil and human rights are universal and apply to all. But it truly seems to me that despite all their flag-waving crap, conservatives/Republicans/MAGAs don't think so. Just like during Reconstruction, millions of Southerners said, "Waal, that don't apply to darkies," nowadays MAGA says "That doesn't include FEELTHY IMMERGENTS."

I've reached the conclusion that MAGAs, on some very basic level, don't understand civil rights. And of course, the recent murders in Minnesota, enthusiastically endorsed by MAGA, support that impression.

We can't have a functioning democracy when tens of millions of people don't believe in its foundational principles!
