Bernie, Baby, . . .

"WASHINGTON – U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 92,000 immigrants trying to cross the border illegally in March, a 12-year high announced Tuesday as President Donald Trump moved to replace top leadership at the Department of Homeland Security and has vowed tougher immigration policies.

Some 92,607 immigrants were apprehended at the border in March — the highest monthly total since April 2007, when 104,465 immigrants were stopped trying to enter the country illegally.

Of those apprehended in March, 30,555 were single adults, 8,975 were unaccompanied children and 53,077 were family units, primarily from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said."

The number of family units apprehended is an all-time high."

"America is not full....except for too many xenophobes in white sheets."

As usual pj misquotes.  President Trump said the US was full of illegal immigrants.

President Trump, in an interview with Fox & Friends that aired Saturday morning, declared the “country is full” and said the U.S. immigration system can no longer absorb a mass influx of illegal immigrants

Pj at last admits he is in favor of open borders

I've already pointed to the immigration bill I support - the one that seperates felons and workers....not the one that seperates children and mothers.     But then again....liberals and abortion.... right Tom?  Thats how you sleep at night with Trump's  eggregious actions on the border.

History wont be kind to the alt-white reign of the border and general discourse towards anypne that isn't a WASP.  And neither will future elections.

In 1986 an amnesty billed with the promise that it would end illegal immigration.  It didn't.  There are no guarantees that this bill would do that.

PJ & friends want open borders & won't admit how many illegals are to many

Neither is seperating women and babies....but it sure makes people like you feel good, doesn't it Tom?

I stated my requirments for limits.   But you're not happy with my answer.     And I feel horrible about it.  Really.

There has been a recent uptick in immigrants. This uptick is a result of Trump's immigration policy failures. People struggling in Central American countries trying to tough it out are forced to make a decision.  If they don't leave their home country now they may not be able to do so in the future.

They can anticipate conditions deteriorating because Trump ended economic aid and rather than try to wait it out to see how bad it gets they are afraid Trump is going to follow through with his threats of closing the border and narrowing the reasons people can request asylum so they feel like it is a now or never situation.

Clinton, Bush and Obeyme gave "lip service" and did not follow the immigration laws. Now that President Trump is ENFORCING the law, he is the bad guy. According to Mark, "There has been a recent uptick in immigrants. This uptick is a result of Trump's immigration policy failures"

Always sorry for victims of dictator countries.  But we don't control that.  We control our country, or at least have some ability (personal, societal, political) to effect change.  As David said, Americans have demanded governmental attention to illegal immigration for decades, through multiple presidental terms.  Trump has stated this as a goal.  He has offered plans.  Then the politicians and citizens (some, anyway) get weepy and protest.  How does that look to the dictators?  Like America really doesn't want border/immigration control.  When Trump backtracks on proposals he is responding to the shouts of the very people who SAID they don't want illegals taking their jobs and living next to them.

Actually, in the case of those Central American countries we did. We trained those dictators to be ruthless thugs at the School of the Americas located in Fort Benning on U.S. soil and we the taxpayers paid for it. We wanted ruthless thugs because a subservient cheap labor force in Central America served our corporate interests. Everyone wants cheap bananas, coffee and underwear right?   The immigrants from Central America are very much a case of our chickens coming home to roost.

The problems with Trump's plans is that they are illegal. A few days ago when he was at the border he told rank and file border patrol agents that they should lie to judges. He told Kristin Nielsen to ignore judicial orders and lock kids in cages anyway.  How does it look to the dictators when they realize Trump is a lawless thug just like them?  I'd suggest it emboldens them to be even more thuggish.

Lets play guess who said it

We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, and unchecked.” Aside from the obvious security dangers, unvetted illegal immigration, is unfair to “the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.”

He condemned illegal immigration as “wrong — plain and simple.”

“Should we want to encourage newcomers to learn the language of the country they’re moving to? Of course.”

“It’s not racist to say if you’re going to be here then you should learn the language of the country you just arrived at,  We need to have some sort of common language in which all of us can work and learn and understand each other.”
