Since bbking knows much about energy company subsidies, please educate us about how much these subsidies amount to annually. I would suggest that you break out subsidies they garner from green energy, since all green energy folks get these. It would also be neat if you could break out these subsidies as a percentage of revenue, and then compare this with revenues and subsidies for green companies...........including subsidies given to buyers of cars, to battery producers, and to those with solar solar panels.............my Liberal brother just got $4600, for example for solar panels to power his brand spanking new $1.5 million North Carolina home. It's a shame that he can't get a tax break for either of his two planes, however. I fully support the subsidies my brother is enjoying, since he retired at the age of 54, some eleven years ago. He's not taking home a paycheck now and can barely make ends meet.

You have this righteous indignation at people getting "free shit." That's a typical shortsighted conservative viewpoint. Subsidies for green energy encourage people to install renewable sources--and when they do, and long after, the demand on the existing grid is lessened. Just like subsidies for electric and hybrid cars encourage people to buy them--thus lessening the demand for petroleum products.
In other words, society benefits from those subsidies. I know that conservatives hate, hate, hate that idea, because they can't figure out a way to keep the lesser classes out. Maybe you would approve of a green energy program that only benefits white people??
It's obvious that at some point in the near future, we're going to be forced to stop burning decomposed dinosaurs for our energy and we'll have to use other sources. So why not start making the transition now? And by the way, Boilerbuddy, why politicize it? It makes sense both economically and ecologically. I know Republicans are written huge checks by fossil fuel companies (speaking of subsidies!!!) to stop renewable energy, but it's happening, and no one can stop it.
