I don't know what particular countries you're referring to, but GDP growth is only one measure of a country's economic strength. Income per capita is one, and Western Europe has the highest in the world of any region. Another measure would be gross domestic output on a per capita basis--again, Western Europe has among the highest rates in the world.
Regardless of the numbers, it's manifestly obvious that those countries have had universal health care for decades and are doing just fine economically, and having such health care hasn't sent their economies into a death spiral, like conservatives keep bleating would happen in the US.

The funny thing is, those aren't even their own thoughts. They're just parroting Fox News, Republicans, etc. You can tell by the unoriginal language they use.
The Republican party is all about orthodoxy these days. You have to oppose health care; you have to deny climate science; you have to believe Trump is a wonderful man and a perfect President; and you have to believe that rich old white people should be ruling the earth and that blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, and women should be treated as inferiors.
The good news is: the American people want universal health care, and those Republicans who continue to oppose it will find themselves booted out of office, one by one.
It's like that outcome the white supremacist Republicans fear so much: whites will not be a majority by 2050. Yep. True. And nothing you can do to stop it. This country will become more democratic and egalitarian, despite the efforts of conservatives. And yeah, we're gonna embrace socialism. SOCIALISM! SOOOOOOOOOCIALISM!!!! The current Medicare program is unfunded to the tune of $40 trillion & the liberals want to add to the problem.
Someone with Medicare along with an Advantage program (that covers what Medicare doesn't) costs $400 per month. If one wants a prescription plan it is another $40 per month. And none of this covers nursing home coverage which could cost $150 per month (if one can geta policy).
The tax increase to cover something like this will be enormous.
