Biden

Uh huh Jerry. I, unlike you, am realistic. If I want someone other than whoever is nominated, what difference will that make?

Try as you or anyone else might, the influential power of self-interest will never go away regardless of any attempts to disguise it. It's just an inherent part of human nature..part of that natural survival instinct. How many of your last ten posts in here involved your own self-interest above others? It's reasonable to hope that despite that influence that reasonable humans at least consider and allow the other side's plight, which might involve a compromise of some sort at some point. That compromise ( which includes legislative actions) is a part of any progress on most issues. No pain, no gain..or some such something. There's little compromise surrounding us currently among the so-called political body, which was originally designed to support the people. It hasn't been that way for a long time, unfortunately, and is simply absent at present. None of us are truly noble..we're more concerned about ourselves initially in any conflict..that's humanity. *l*

Hey, Charles, you underestimate me. I'm wounded. I'll have you know that I favor government-funded corrective brain surgery for all conservatives! I'll pay higher taxes to fund it! And tying it with my statement about motivation--my life will ultimately be happier.

In fact, I don't consider most philanthropic/charitable acts to be anything other than selfish--they make the donor feel good. But I sorta digress.

When you talk about compromise--with whom are we compromising when we strangle in its cradle any initiative that will improve the lives of the people? Those who will suffer some short-term loss of profit/shareholder value?

The current VA can't even treat a common cold with any expediency. About 37% of the electorate consider themselves ' conservative' ( which might just be a lie, or one of several), so you've got an insurmountable surgical volume schedule to deal with. If I get a choice, I'd just like to be operated on before McConnell is. Line that up, will ya?

Does it make you proud and happy to pat yourself on the back for your vote being counted because you just voted for some vegetable?

I think we can really rip along once we get everyone trained in the procedure. That said, we should naturally prioritize those who are likely to reproduce in the near future. So you might have to get a ticket for Boarding Group Six.

And just to act in the interest of fairness...I don't think we should operate on elected politicians until they leave office. If the voters elect someone who's insane (i.e., conservative), then they deserve to be represented by the factory original version of that person until the end of his term.

And you call me irretrievably doctrinaire!

My vote was for Biden, not some vegetable...but it was primarily for "not Trump" and yes, I'm very proud of that.

I realize that I could have contributed more by Taser-stunning a couple of dozen MAGAs and leaving them chained up in my basement until Election Day was over, but hey, maybe next time.

I think you should try that with David next time.  You and him can spend some quality time together then.

When asked why he hasn't visited East Palestine after promising to visit 6 months ago biden said this

"Well, I haven't had the occasion to go to East Palestine," Biden began. "There's a lot going on here, and I just haven't been able to break."

Perhaps instead of spending August at the beach he could have spent some time in Ohio.

He is at the beach again today

At least he isn't spending time surrendering for a mug shot.

Stupid Tommie-poo objects to Biden spending a sunny WEEKEND DAY at the beach.

That's why he's stupid Tommie-poo.
