There were 3.3 million people who came to the U.S. illegally, were released into the country via parole or overstayed their permission to remain in the country in fiscal year 2023, according to a recent report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). So do taxpaying citizens care about the price of, say, food? Because if The David Plan of killing all immigrants was put into place, food costs would more than double.

Let's put aside the David racism for a moment (yours, too). The question is whether immigration benefits or hurts this country. That question has already been answered--if you know anything about this country's history. You can also look at a wealthy, drastically xenophobic nation like Japan. They've NEVER allowed more than a very, very few immigrants to even take up temporary residency. Now, their population is rapidly aging and their workforce proportionately shrinking. It may lead to irreversible stagnation.

Now, this is when conservitards start screaming about all them ILLEGULS getting QUABILLIONS of free stuff such as food and basic medical care. EEEEEK! Like we can't spare it. Suddenly, we're a poor nation that can't afford to give someone a can of beans.

And since if someone is TRULY an "illegul" and works in this country, they pay taxes on their wages but receive minimal or no benefits in return, John Q. Taxpayer should be thrilled. I'm sure you'll come up with some convoluted, specious bullshit to argue against that, but it's reality. (And Millerscum is too blinded by his race hatred to think logically about it, so his inevitable reply, no doubt mixed with a personal attack on me as if that somehow makes my point invalid, will have no meaning. But you are, on occasion, capable of thinking.)

Most of these immigrants are paid in cash though.  Yet they get benefits.  So very little tax paid into system at all.  

I won't argue with you on the food part though.  You may be right about that.  

Actually, no, that ain't a thing. Not any more. Government agencies--both state and federal--clamp down HARD on businesses that pay workers in cash and don't collect or remit any taxes. Now, you could say that it's just those governments being noble or something, but the cold hard reality is that such businesses are engaging in tax evasion. Plus, they often get to ignore things like health and safety precautions, number of hours/overtime, child labor laws, etc. etc. etc. So the crackdown is harsh.

You have it backwards, though, on the taxes. For instance, unless they are indeed paid strictly in cash, they pay social security taxes. Will they ever collect social security? Unlikely. They pay Medicare taxes. Will they ever collect Medicare benefits? Unlikely, They pay unemployment insurance. How many will actually file for unemployment, even if eligible? Very few. They have state and federal taxes withheld. How many will file state or federal returns to get refunds? Very, very few.

And even if they become citizens at some point in the future--they'll be collecting some 40 years from now. In the meantime, older citizens are getting paid right now.

So you have people paying into the system without getting much back. AND--that helps to slow down the approaching insolvency of Social Security and Medicare. Money in, very little money back out. Who the fuck would argue against that (especially while bleating about the deficit)?

Actually they don't.  Many businesses particularly restaurants that deal in a lot of cash pay much of their staff in cash.  Landscapers & small contractors also take advantage.

The question is whether immigration benefits or hurts this country.

The question isn't legal immigration but illegal immigration.  98% of them aren't working or even interested in working.
