Reagan was most certainly a Republican. It took a Republican to clean up the 4 years of disaster of Jimmy Carter. A very nice gentleman but was not a good President.
Oh, he would run as a Republican .... but Republican voters wouldn't vote for him.
Can you imagine the David Miller's and Tom's of the country voting for a candidate that wanted amnesty for illegal immigrants with a pathway to citizenship...or even worse - an assault weapons ban? Me neither.
But then again I couldn't imagine them supporting a pull out of Iraq after 10 years ridiculing liberals for holding that position....and I couldn't imagine them imposing protectionist tariffs on China after blasting Obama for doing so....and I couldn't imagine them supporting socialist subsidies doled out to farmers ...not to mention welfare checks sent to the general public !
Sometimes all it takes for people like Tom and David to embrace liberal ideology is to have Tucker Carlson tell them its ok.
