Helping working people instead of billionaires? What a refreshing change. Although Trump dolled out 7.5 billion to soybean farmers. The sad thing is alot of those rural recipients are upset about the college grads getting financial relief. Much like David Miller they think government welfare checks are only ok when they get them.

Helping? There is no "change" here - just another DemocRat purchase of votes while stiffing lenders that loaned money to liberals who cry because they have to pay for a debt that they agreed to pay. What happens to the lenders who now are out the money they loaned? Who do they go crying to in order to get their money back? -- President Trump had nothing to do with what brain dead Biden is doing - long time TDS sufferers like P-athetic J-erk Stroh have a difficult time staying on topic whenever their asinine liberal screwing of America and American tax payers is brought to the forefront. By the way, Social Security checks are not welfare checks - working for over 50 years and paying into Social Security for those 50 years qualifies one to recieve a monthly Social Security check. This cancelling of student loans IS nothing more that what I have stated - a buying of votes for the corrupt DemocRats.
Your COVID checks were welfare, David. Other peoples' money - people like me who dont suck at life taking care of people like you who do. You're welcome.

You can call "covid checks" welfare, if you wish. Those who received these checks, millions of Americans, would probably call them "survival checks". Being dismissive and putting down anyone who received "covid checks" is asinine, but not unexpected from liberals who always have their hands out but did not get their "fair share". By thye way, being a tax payer for over 50 years and being laid off because of the pandemic does give license to anyone to criticize millions of others who needed the "covid checks" until the pandemic was over.
If Biden is spending only $5 billion to "by votes", then he is a piker compared to Trump who in 2020 mailed checks worth $45 billion to farmers, not including the subsidization of crop insurance and loans. Come on Joe, you need to go bigger!

Hey, stupid asshole, these student debts should have been canceled during the Trump administration--because the contracts those students signed 20+ years ago contained a debt relief clause. Those contracts were signed during the Dubya administration. Trump decided not to honor those contracts. Biden decided to honor them. Nobody is getting "stiffed." Do your research instead of bleating.
I know that Republicans like to welsh on contracts--after all, their orange god is a grand master of that--but Democrats have integrity.

As I pointed out, the debt forgiveness is being granted to people who signed student debt contracts 20 or more years ago. Clauses in those contracts would grant debt relief after X number of years, usually 10. So the relief should have been granted during the Turd administration, but it wasn't. Biden is simply correcting the error and honoring those contracts.
I'm sure that Davey Dog and the Republicans he licks think that fulfilling your obligations is "buying votes."
Helping working people instead of billionaires?
Now for the facts from the Fed
Much of the debt is held by some well paid people

This latest cancellation is for over 73,000 people and for over 3.7 MILLION students in total. - all since 2021.This is nothing but an attempt to buy votes. Just how many farmers benefitted from the checks they received to be able to continue to farm? Your comparison is asinine - there is no comparison.
